Description
Paddington Printshop was a graphic art and printmaking centre active in west London between 1975 and 1989. The Printshop worked collaboratively with members of local organisations and campaigns to create over 400 poster designs, and thousands of leaflets. The printshop was active in the 70's and 80's, producing posters on a wide range of political issues, including for educational purposes. The group was not-for-profit and used a variety of hand-printing techniques to create their posters. This is a screenprinted, highly colourful poster. Its title is in a 'L' shape, which reads "squatters benefit bop." This is in red text. Thereare three images on the poster showing people dancing, as well as an image of a phone, and a music jukebox machine. There is a circle with the date of the event written inside, 11th, Nobember. The other text on the poster reads "Ladbroke house, Highbury grove, Ticket 90p, claimants 60p. Jam today, dire tribe, creche food, disco late bar. Buses 4. 19, 30,
73,236." This was produced in 1978, and was created by John Phillips for the advisory service for squatters.
