Description
OutRage! was a queer direct action group formed in May 1990 and active until 2011. Its aims were to assert the human rights of LGBTQIA people; to fight homophobia, discrimination and violence; and to affirm rights to sexual freedom and self-determination. This is a plain white poster with black text reading "MOBO REWARDS ANTI-GAY HATE!" The OutRage! logo is at the bottom of the poster. This poster was made to protest the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) awards, where two acts who had previously written songs with homophobic lyrics had been nominated for awards. MOBO originally said the acts could still attend as long as they issued public apologies for previous homophobic lyrics but neither act followed through, so MOBO eventually dropped them both.
