This badge refers to Ruhollah Khomeini, the supreme religious leader (or ayatollah) of Iran from 1979 to 1989 following the Iranian Revolution. A 1987 report of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights estimated that as many as 7000 LGBTQIA people were executed in Iran.
