Description
Printed newsletter titled "Anti-Racist CND, Newsletter of the CND Anti-Racist Working Group". The headline reads "No Peace Without Anti-Racism."
Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) is an organisation that campaigns for peace and for governments around the world to demilitarise and discard existing and new nuclear weapons programmes. The Anti-Racist group worked to call out racism within CND, such as the suggestion from the Vice Chair of CND, Mike Pentz, that Enoch Powell should join. The newsletter also highlights the connections between the peace movement and anti-racist and anti-apartheid movements, by drawing attention to the fact that nuclear submarines were powered by uranium mined in Namibia under South African military occupation.
