Box of a set of posters called 'Target London' by Peter Kennard and produced by the Greater London Council (GLC) in 1985. The series of posters explain to Londoners the impossibility of surviving a nuclear war. The box features a skeleton reading "Protect and Survive" leaflet overlaid on an aerial map of London. The back of the box showed the graphic design was by Peter Gladwin and has the GLC logo.


Peter Kennard is a London-born and based photomontage artist and Professor of Political Art at the Royal College of Art. Seeking to reflect his involvement in the anti-Vietnam War movement, he turned from painting to photomontage to better address his political views.
