Description
Printed leaflet titled "R.O.F. [Royal Ordnance Factory] Llanishen Cardiff - Wales' Bomb Factory Blockade & Demonstration - 2nd & 3rd December 1983" with a small CND logo to the right, and a photograph of the factory below. The factory was involved in making components for nuclear bombs and other weapons since it was founded in 1939. At the time of the protest the factory was due to start working on Trident nuclear missiles.
The Trident nuclear programme is the UK's nuclear deterrent, and the government describes it as a means to "deter the most extreme threats to our national security and way of life". Anti-nuclear campaigners, like the CND argue that nuclear weapons shouldn't be created or used, and all existing nuclear weapons should be decommissioned and destroyed.
