"Nuclear free air, land and sea leaflet" [Temp.2024.14.6]
Description
Printed leaflet showing a stylised picture of a scared child covering their ears with a fighter jet flying close above them, and a simple rural village background, and a title "Above our heads - just!". The reverse describes a campaign to stop low flying jets over rural communities, which it describes as "Bombing runs... rehearsing long range bombing missions flying low to escape radar detections". A section of the flyer is a form for joining the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), alongside a logo of a CND sign with rays like a sun, and the slogan "Nuclear free air, land and sea".
Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) is an organisation that campaigns for peace and for governments around the world to demilitarise and discard existing and new nuclear weapons programmes.
