Circular red badge, "YTS cheap labour!" and a silhouette of a young person putting up two fingers. YTS refers to Youth Training Scheme, which started in 1983 under Margaret Thatcher's government. Intended as an alternative to apprenticeships, it was widely criticised for exploiting school leavers, especially from marginalised communities, who received low pay and little genuine education or training for their work.
