Description
John Wilkes was an MP who demanded an end to corruption in government, and for this he was sent to prison. You'll probably agree with Wilkes' view of corruption. However his ideas and the ideas of all the reformers at this time were contested by those in power. In 1763 the government tried to arrest Wilkes but he escaped to Paris. This mug shows support for the exiled radical.
