Description
Sash, British Funeral Workers Association, Chairman. A blue sash with a white and red stripes as well as metallic embroidery and metal details. Gold coiled metallic thread embroidery reads âB.F.W.A. // Eastern Branch // Chairmanâ with another design showcasing two leafy branches below in the same coiled metallic thread embroidery. An additional length of pink cotton fabric, measuring 285mm x 150mm, has been machine stitched to the underside in this area likely to keep the embroidery secure when worn.
On the underside of the bottom layer, near the folded edge, is a 45mm x 15mm black tag with yellow embroidered text reading âGEORGE TUTILL // 83 CITY RD LONDON,â surrounded by a decorative border.
A coiled metallic thread tassel-dome, measuring 30mm x 30mm x 20mm, has been hand stitched to the right edge of the sash, equidistant between the bottom of the embroidery and the fringe. On the underside of the bottom layer, an eye clasp has been handstitched to the sash which matches the placement of the tassel-dome.
