Description
A folded A5 leaflet produced by the Albert Kennedy Trust.

The leaflet is printed in black on bright yellow paper. The front page shows the Albert Kennedy Trust logo of four triangles in a circle, arranged to look like two people. In the centre of the page there is text which says 'Meeting the needs of young lesbians and gay men in the Nineties'. Inside the leaflet is information about the Trust. On the back, there is a form to order a t-shirt or donate to the Trust.

The Albert Kennedy Trust was formed in 1989 to help young LGBTQIA+ people who had been kicked out of their homes. It recruited volunteers from the LGBTQIA+ community to be 'Big Brothers' or 'Big Sisters' to provide support and accommodation to unhoused LGBTQIA+ youth. It was founded in memory of Albert Kennedy, a 16 year old who died in 1989. Though the exact circumstances of his death are unclear, it is suggested that Albert was hiding from homophobic abuse when he died. He was in care in Salford. The Albert Kennedy Trust still operates today under the name AKT.
