Description
A t-shirt with a pit head winding machine on front, text reads: "INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CHESTERFIELD 1985". This t-shirt was made by Women Against Pit Closures (WAPC) Chesterfield ahead of a WAPC national rally for IWD in 1985. Chestefield hosted the event which saw hundreds of women unite behind the miners. Arthur Scargill, leader of the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) also attended the rally in order to thank the women for their support.
