Description
A red photograph album containing 48 postcards and short biographies of influential members of the British Labour movement during the 1906 parliament.

The 1906 election was the first at which candidates connected to the Labour Representation Committee (LRC), founded by Keir Hardie in 1900, won seats in significant numbers, returning 29 MPs to Westminster. When they reached parliament, the new MPs named themselves The Labour Party. The photo album shows key figures from this movement, including Labour Party MPs like Hardie, and Ramsay MacDonald, who became the first Labour Prime Minister, and the first working class person to hold the office, in 1924.
