Description
Prejudice and misrepresentation of Co-operative principles led to the movement founding its own political party in 1917. The first Co-op MP was elected in 1918. The party reached its highest point in 1945 when twenty-three Co-op sponsored MPs were elected.

The Bethnal Green branch was formed in 1928 and the banner was presented to the branch by the Political Committee of the London Co-operative Society in 1957.

Materials: Single sided banner. Ground of red polyester rep lined with red cotton sateen and painted lettering.
