Description
This banner was made by Mary Lupton for Downham Market Peace Group which campaigned against the presence of US cruise missiles in Britain. The countryside around the town in Norfolk inspired the design.

The banner was used at rallies in London in the 1980s and at Molesworth Peace Camp in Cambridgeshire. It was donated to the museum in 1993, two years after the group disbanded.

Materials: Cotton ground with applique and patchwork design.
