Notes
Image on front: national flags above two figures (one sailor and one fireman?). [Almost certainly from the late period of the First World War, given the prominence given to the flags of Allied countries. The union was in the patriotic labour camp, that Davis Swift writes about; their General Secretary Havelock Wilson was very jingistic and anti-German] In the centre a separate scene of a sailing ship, above which is a female figure and the slogan 'unity is strength' Image on back: ship at sea in central panel plus four roundels with portraits of male heads.
