Description
The origins of NUPE go back to 1888, with the creation of the London County Councils Employees Protection Society. This banner was produced in 1985, the design for it coming from the NUPE North West Division banner competition, won by NUPE member D Wilkinson of Stockport.

In 1993 NUPE, NALGO and COHSE merged to form the one public service union UNISON.
