Description
The NUR was formed in 1913 following an amalgamation of three railway unions.

From 1914-1920 the union brought about improvements in wages and working conditions. In the inter-war years the union focused on transport policy and a campaign to establish public ownership and control of the transport industry. A large degree of public ownership was brought about in 1947.

In 1990 the union became the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT).

Materials: Silk faced cotton rep and thread embroidery.
