The banner probably dates from the 1970s.

The title of Post Office Engineering Union was adopted in 1919. The union's origins go back to 1870 when the Post Office Engineering Department was created. A unique feature of the POEU was that it was a civil service union which recruited technical workers. In 1958 membership exceeded 70,000.

Materials: Double layer banner of polyester rep with machine stitch applied lettering.
