Description
The Socialist League existed from 1932-37 and was established to promote socialist policies within the Labour Party. When the Independent Labour Party was disaffiliated from the Labour Party in 1932, those members wanting to remain in the party formed, with others, the Socialist League. Stafford Cripps was a prominent member. The League dissolved itself in 1937 in order to avoid expulsion from the Labour Party.
