Description
A white poster with black text reading "ANTI-APARTHEID MOVEMENT SAYS: SANCTIONS NOW!" with the Anti-Apartheid Movement (AAM) logo in the top left corner.

This poster was produced by the Anti-Apartheid Movement, a British organisation that was at the centre of the international movement opposing Apartheid in South Africa and Namibia. Apartheid was a system of institutionalised racial segregation that existed from 1948 until the early 1990's. Many individuals as well as organisations refused to buy products from South Africa during this period as a way to protest the system of Apartheid and show solidarity with the non-white population. This poster calls on the British government to introduce financial sanctions on South African goods (such as coal) in order to make Apartheid an unfeasible policy for the South African government.
