The National Union of Asphalte Workers was founded around the end of the First World War under the name The London Society of Asphalt Workers. It changed its name to The National Union of Asphalte Workers in 1925. It amalgamated with the Northern Asphalt Workers Union to form the Amalgamated Union of Asphalt Workers in 1938.
