Description
'Stop War! Vote Labour' is an election poster featuring an image of a baby wearing a gas mask.

Issued as a response to the Italian invasion of Abyssinia (Ethiopia) in October 1935, this Labour Party poster caused considerable controversy. The Conservative Party denounced it as being inaccurate for showing a baby in a gas mask, and in bad taste. However within four years the government had issued 38,000,000 gas masks to civilians, including ones for babies.
