"AT a MEETING of the FRIENDS of PARLIAMENTARY REFORM, held at the George Inn, Winchester, on Monday the 22nd of October, 1832, SIR THOMAS BARING Bart. M.P. in the Chair; the following Resolutions were agreed to:


Mored by P. Mildmay, Esq. M.P. and seconded by Sir T. B. Lethbridge, Bart, and resolved unanimously,


That, to secure to the people of this country the benefits contemplated from the passing of the important measure of Parliamentary Reform, and convinced that unless men of liberal principles and enlightened minds are returned to represent the constituency of the nation. the shadow, and not the substance, the name only, and not the reality of Reform, will have been ob tained: this Meeting are determined to exert their best endeavours to procure for the Northern Divi sion of the County of Hants men so qualified, and who are likely to give effect to the principles upon which the Bill for the Reform of Parliament was founded.

Resolved unanimously, That CHAS SHAW LEFEVRE, Esq. of Heckfield House. as the tried advocate of civil and religious liberty: the consistent supporter of His Majesty's Ministers during their arduous struggle to carry the Reform Bill; the enemy of profuse expenditure; the friend of humanity, by voting for the extinction of slavery and the mitigation of the criminal laws: and (in contradiction of unfounded statements and reports), the able supporter of the agricultural, commercial, and manufacturing interests of the country, is justly entitled to the confidence of the Electors.

Resolved unanimously, That the public and satisfactory declaration of the political principles of JAMES WINTER SCOTT, Esq. of Rotherfield Park, who has come forward as a Candidate at the call of a numerous body of the Electors, guaranteed by his general character, affords a sufficient assur ance, that, although untried as a Member of the Legislature, he will perform the duties of a Repre sentative conscientiously, and with advantage to his country.

Resolved unanimously, That a Central Committee be formed and commence their sittings at Winchester, and that G. P. Jervoise, Es, be requested to act as Chairman of the Committer.

Resulted unanimously, That Jubs Duty, and John Young, Bog beregnented to act as Honorary Secretaries to the Central Committe

Resolved unanimously, That Committees he formed, without delay, at the following Plans, with an Houry Secretary to Committer, we shall be in diset ammanities with the Secretaries of the Central Committee
