Description
A red banner showing a sick man in bed, with another man, a Society official, seated beside him, comforting him. A woman and children are being spoken to by another Society official. The banner reads 'Help and sympathy in time of sickness.'
The other side has a central panel which ontains allegorical figures and iconography: angels tending the sick and needy, a lion lying next to a lamb, a handshake, justice seated on a throne, wheatsheaf etc.
The banner was created for the Milton Abbas district of the National Deposit Friendly Society between 1890 and 1910.
