The other side shows four workers outdoors holding tools and clasping hands. Gold text on blue scrolls reads: 'National Union of General Workers. Bradford Branch. Unity is Strength.'

The National Union of General Workers was a left-wing union, closely associated with the emerging socialist labour movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The banner imagery is commonly used in socialist art of the time and shows four union members clasping hands. The image of clasped hands is a common one and indicates unity.
