Spanish printers fought against fascist forces during the Spanish Civil War. This motivated trade unions throughout Britain to send aid to Spain. This banner shows how British printers showed support, by campaigning for the British government to send arms to the Spanish Republicans. Due to the Non-Intervention Act, no countries were meant to send arms or resources to Spain in support of either side. Demands to arm Spain were repeated throughout the Spanish Civil War, but Britain never broke the Act.
