Tricolour flag, from the Spanish Civil War
This flag shows a horizontal tricolour of red, yellow and violet; the official national flag of Republican Spain during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). While the official flag of Spain was changed when Franco won the war, the tricolour continued to be used by the Spanish Republican government in exile until 1977, when democracy was once again established in Spain following the death of Franco in 1975.
This tricolour is associated with the International Brigade Dependents and Wounded Committee.
