A medal from 1810 commemorating the election of Sir Francis Burdett as MP for Westminster.

The reverse of the medal reads 'The Intrepid Champion of the People', showing that he was viewed favourably by people for his policies.

Sir Francis Burdett (25 January 1770 – 23 January 1844) was a Radical politician in favour of universal male suffrage (all men having the right to vote, rather than restrictions based on class). He was elected as MP for Westminster in June 1807.
