Description
The radical journalist Henry Hunt is shown showering the grossly unrepresented boroughs with shoe polish after his election as MP for Preston, Lancashire. Henry Hunt spoke at Peterloo in 1819. He was elected MP for the Radical town of Preston in 1831. He was actually against the passing of the 1832 act as it did not extend the francise far enough. The fact that Hunt was against the 1832 Act shows that it failed to embrace Radical demands and thus why it was such a dissappointment.
He manufactured ink and is shown dousing 'dishonest' opponents with his radical ideas.
