During WWII, The Communist Party of Great Britain were campaigning for Britain and the Allies to open a Second Front against Hitler's armies. After invading the Soviet Union in 1941, the Communist Party urged Churchill's government to take an active role in defending the Soviets. This poster from 1942 advertises a meeting at which Isobel Brown, founding member of the Communist Party, spoke about the
campaign to women whose husbands and relatives were at war. This poster has thin strips of paper attached to it around the edges so that it can be held within a cardboard frame.
