A large white poster with red and black text reading: "POLITT writes to ATTLEE / COMMUNIST PARTY'S PROPOSALS TO SOLVE THE CRISIS / 1. Cut the forces - fill the factories 2. Tradee with Russia and the Dominions 3. Plan production - slash profits - cut prices 4. More say for the workers - less for the rich 5. Put newmen into the Government - stand up to Wall Strees" A red box to the bottom of the poster has text inside which reads: " Further details - see Harry Pollitt's new book 'LOOKING AHEAD' 21-" This poster was issued by the Communist Party in Great Britain and printed by the London Caledonian Press during Clement Attlee's term as Prime Minister of the UK following the Second World War. Harry Pollitt, general secretary of the Communist Party, produced a number of suggestions for how post-war Britain should be run, specifically in relation to the post-war economy, for which he urged Attlee to push for trade with Russia and the Eastern Bloc at the start of the Cold War period.
Condition: slightly yellowed, dirt, crease marks from where the poster has been folded into four, tears and creases along the edges.
