Description
Disabled Lesbian Group postcard 'No Love You'll Want Next Door' showing Deaf and disabled woman with a walking stick standing outside two green doors - one for a Day Centre, the other for a Lesbian Club. She is making the BSL sign for Lesbian while the lesbian club staff tells her "No love... you want next door."

These postcards were created by Julia Keenan as part of Manchester's Lesbian Community Project. The postcards use humour to tackle the issue of representation and acceptance of disabled members of the LGBTQ+ community, within the community itself. The club bouncer can't understand that the Deaf woman might be both disabled and a lesbian, so turns her away from the lesbian club, thinking she should only attend the disabled people's day centre. 1 in 3 LGBTQIA+ adults in the UK also has a disability, and LGBTQIA+ disabled people face the double discrimination of ableism within LGBTQIA+ spaces, and homophobia and transphobia within disabled services and spaces.
