A3 yellowed poster. White background with red text saying "Swastikas today -H BOMBS TOMORROW? TELL YOUR M.P.- No Nuclear Arms for W. Germany." This poster is anti-nuclear weapon and anti-military. Swastikas today is referencing the Nazis, stating how ideology is dangerous, but how the use of Hydrogen bombs is just as dangerous. West Germany was the Federal Republic of Germany and were part of the Western Bloc. Its three allied zones were the United Kingdom, America and France who wanted to use nuclear arms to defend the territory. The publishing and address information for the poster is at the bottom, stating "Q, Knight, 50 Dixon Rd, S.E 25." This is a Cold War era poster - the cold war was an ongoing political, social and military rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union and their allies that developed after World War Two. This state of political hostility between countries, namely the Soviet Bloc countries and the Western powers, were characterised by threats, military
threats, propaganda and other measures short of warfare. The official dates of the Cold War are from 1945-1990, but this has been disputed.
