The poster shows a laurel wreath with a ribbon in the tricolour of the Spanish Republic. Inside the laurel wreath is painted gold and significantly damaged, limiting the legibility of the text. As far as can be told, the text reads "But this grief of Spain is the pangs of birth an[d] [?] tragedy is [?][i]ll tragedy IN THE BATTLEFIELDS OF TODAY THEY ARE SOWING THE FREEDOM OF TO-MORROW ". This poster is in the same style as the other hand-painted posters in the CPGB poster collection.
