Description
A large white poster with black and red text, advertising the sale of the Daily Worker newspaper, around 1930. Now the Morning Star, the Daily Worker was set up by the Communist Party of Great Britain in 1930 as an alternative to mainstream news sources. It is the longest running socialist publication in the UK. This poster is missing some from the top as black text reads "WORKER" in the Daily Worker logo but is missing the word "DAILY". Red text underneath the headline reads "It can afford to print THE TRUTH. That's something nobody in the Labour Movement can afford to do without these days. Buy a copy of today's Daily Worker here and now... and see for yourself." A shadow of the text can be faintly seen on the poster, upside-down. Condition: large crease in the middle where the poster has been folded.
