Description
A Trojan horse with the head of Winston Churchill is filled with 'The Old (Tory) Firm' in top hats and suits holding signs including 'Kill the Medical Bill' 'Protect the Poor Capitalist' and 'Education Costs Too Much'. The Trojan horse has a sign on the front saying 'National' with 'Tory' crossed out above it.

The election leaflet 'Trojan Horse - 1945 Model' was produced by the Communist Party of Great Britain for the 1945 General Election. It suggests that letting Winston Churchill continue as Prime Minister would be 'anti progress' and a return to business as usual for capitalists, at the expense of the working classes. It urges voters 'Don't "Back" This One'.

During the Second World War, Conservative Party Prime Minister Winston Churchill had led a coalition government since 1940. When he called for an election in 1945 following victory in Europe, there was a perception he would win easily due to his personal popularity, despite the Conservative Party's unpopularity. Opposition parties, including Labour and the Communist Party were pushing for a program of social reforms including a National Health Service and full employment. The Conservatives lost the election, and the new Prime Minister Clement Attlee's Labour Party gained a majority of seats for the first time.
