Description
Communist Party poster with three black and white images on the left hand side with speech bubbles coming out of them - all the figures are anti-socialist. The poster on the right hand side said in large writing "what are they afraid of? Read the British Road to Socialism and Find Out?" The first photo is of President Carter saying "we do not favour Communist participation in West European governments, and we would like to see Communist influence in any West European countries reduced." The second photograph is of Margaret Thatcher, saying "My job is stop Britain going red." The last picture is less easy to identity, but most likely Nikolai Ryzhkov - a Russian Politician and was a Soviet official prior. His speech bubble says "For some years now I have been warning against the menacing proposals and plans for electoral alliances between Social Democrats and Communists." Bottom of the poster says "30p from all progressive bookshops or Communist Party. 16 King Street London WC2E 8HY". During the Cold War Thatcher, and other leaderships were extremely anti-communinist/socialist and this poster is asking why, positing a solution - which is to read the British Road to Socialism.
