Description
A poster advertising an event organised by the Communist Party of Great Britain, "The People's Festival". The People's Festival was held on Sunday 18th June 1978 as a celebration of socialist thought and ideas. The event was held at Alexandra Palace in London and had a variety of events on such as open forums, theatre, jazz, film festivals, dancing, sports, and political rallies. Over 11,000 people attended the event. This poster has a white background and red and black text. It features a sketch drawing of a white man and a black woman holding hands and waving a banner which reads "UNITE". The man is also holding a guitar. Black text at the top of the poster reads "The People's Festival" with red text underneath giving more details such as the date, location, and activities. The poster is signed 'Jett '78'
