Description
A poster made by the Morning Star to advertise its publication. Originally called The Daily Worker, the Morning Star was a paper founded by the Communist Party in 1930 to combat fascism. It was handed over to the People's Press Printing Society co-operative after the second world war and was renamed in 1966. Morning Star is the only daily English language socialist publication in the world and is the largest and longest running socialist newspaper in Britain. The poster features a cartoon design of eight black kettles with fish inside. Each kettle represents a newspaper, with 'Mirror', 'Telegraph', 'Sun', 'Guardian', 'Times', 'Express', and 'Mail' featuring fish stuck in the kettle. The kettle that represents the Morning Star has a fish escaping with the Morning Star paper. The text at the bottom reads 'Morning Star' in purple and 'the one that's different' in black.
