Red poster that says "COMMUNISTS say - FREEZE PRIZES", "FREEZE PRICES" is in red writing inside a white speech bubble. The back of the poster has a reverse inscription saying "Window Bills - August 1973." 1973 was a tumultuous year economically, hence the Communists asking for a price freeze; this is due to a hike in prices, mass unemployment and social and economic disparities. There was a banking crisis in 1973. Edward Heath was Prime Minister in 1973, who also introduced higher charges and prices within the welfare state, such as increasing the prices of school meals, glasses, and prescriptions.
