Description
A white and green poster advertising an event called 'the people's jubilee', a festival of socialism that took place at Alexandra Palace in June, 1978. The poster features an illustration of a group of people laughing and dancing in front of Alexandra Palace on a green background. To the side, on a white background, policemen and rich onlookers (one of whom wears the crown and is perhaps intended to be Queen Elizabeth) look scandalised; one of tem has a speech bubble reading 'What's going on over there?' Black text at the bottom of the poster reads 'A festival of socialism at Alexandra Palace North London. Sunday 19th June 11am-11pm, admission 2 children 50p pensioners 1. Music, film, theatre, fairs, stalls, children's festival, & sport. Speakers include Gordon McLennan & Santiago Carrilo. Organised by the Communist Party of Great Britain.'
