Description
Duplicate - Black, red, and white poster. Says "History is on our side (Fidel Castro)" in white writing. This is a quote from Castro. Background of the poster is black. Underneath it says "Cambodia Vietnam Portugal Italy" in capital red letters. Underneath this, there are images of five hands, counting down from five to zero- zero is a completely red fist. As the fingers count down, they go red. This symbolises the red colour of the communist party, with the full red fist symbolising full solidarity and 'power to the people'. Fidel Castro was a Cuban revolutionary, politician and lawyer. He was a communist nationalist and Marxist-Leninist- he was the prime Minister of Cuba from 1959-1976, and president from 1976 to 2008. Cambodia, Vietnam, Portugal and Italy all had large communist movements - the hands counting down and the Castro quote suggest left-wing, communist solidarity. The bottom of the poster says "Join the Communist Party." The whole poster is underpinned by communist solidarity, and is internationalist in nature.
