Large yellow poster on a mounted cardboard frame. A black border surround the left hand side of the poster. Large black text reads "NORTH LONDON YOUTH FOODHSIP COMMITTEE/ A FILM SHOW/ DEFENCE OF MADRID/ &A SPEAKER FROM THE BRITISH MEDICAL UNIT IN SPAIN/ 8PM WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 24TH/ TOTTENHAM CENTRAL LIBRARY HALL/ TICKETS 6 PENCE" The poster was printed by Superior Printers Ltd in London. Defence of Madrid was a film produced in 1936, directed by Ivor Montagu and depicting life under Franco's Spain and efforts of resistance against it. Film screenings were organised in solidarity with Madrid and money raised sent to aid the Republican efforts. The British Medical Unit in Spain were part of the International Brigade that organised volunteers to fight against fascism.
