Description
This poster is part of a collection of 100 posters designed by Ettore Vitale for the Italian Socialist Party (PSI) between 1973 and 1991. The posters promote a range of events and campaigns using the colours of the Italian flag- red, white, and green, along with motifs of roses, rainbows, and stars. This poster has a white background with black text and a red stripe running down the centre. A red carnation is printed in the bottom right corner, the flower associated with the Socialist movement. The PSI logo is in the top right corner. Text reads: "25 April / Resistance day / To renew the democratic state is to win the economic criteria according to the criteria of equality. Young people draw inspiration from the civil human values of resistance and socialism to fight violence defending the safety of all and the freedom of each" (translated from Italian) 25 April is the date of Italy's Liberation day, to celebrate the victory of the Italian Resistance movement against Nazi Germany in
1946. This poster was produced in 1978, the 32nd anniversary of Liberation day.
