Description
A calendar produced by Women Against Pit Closures (WAPC) in 1984, for the year of 1985. It was designed and printed by the Sheffield Women's Printing Co-operative.
The calendar features 6 pages arranged in a portrait format with ring binding at the top. Each page has up to two photographs of women showing solidarity with striking mineworkers between 1887 to 1984 at the top of the page and a two month layout at the bottom. Some pages also contain quotes from miners' wives support groups. The front cover of the calendar features a photograph from 1936, showing women and children supporting the workers during the Treherbert Stay-in Strike by waiting at the pit head. The photograph is surrounded by a red border. Underneath, another red border surrounds black text which reads "women against pit closures / CALENDAR 1985" alongside an ink illustration of a coal excavator.
