Description
A yellow sticker reading 'Vote Sutch Monster Party' in large black text.

These stickers were produced for the Monster Raving Loony Party during the Chesterfield by-election in 1984. The stickers were produced by Desmond Lewis and printed by J.N & H. Lock & co. Following the resignation of Labour MP Eric Varley, a by-election was held in the Chesterfield constituency to elect a new Member of Parliament. David Edward Sutch, also known as 'Screaming Lord Sutch', founder of the frivolous political party The Monster Raving Loony Party, stood as a candidate in order to run against Labour MP Tony Benn and provide voters with an alternative to voting for one of the larger political parties.

Lord Sutch formed an alliance with Sid Shaw of the Elvis Presley Party, and the two parties held their election press conference in a fish and chip shop. At the end of the election, Tony Benn was elected MP for Chesterfield.
