Description
This poster is part of a collection of 100 posters designed by Ettore Vitale for the Italian Socialist Party (PSI) between 1973 and 1991. The posters promote a range of events and campaigns using the colours of the Italian flag- red, white, and green, along with motifs of roses, rainbows, and stars. This poster features a white background with a red and green abstract design at the bottom of the poster. Black text at the top of the poster reads: "good governance starts with the municipalities / assizes of the socialist administrators / Rome, 3-4th May 1980 / Conclusion: Bettino Craxi" This poster was produced in 1980 to promote the PSI ahead of the Italian local elections in June of that year. Bettino Craxi was the eader of the PSI from 1976 to 1993 and the first Italian Socialist Party member to become prime minister (1983 to 1987).
