Description
This poster is part of a collection of 100 posters designed by Ettore Vitale for the Italian Socialist Party (PSI) between 1973 and 1991. The posters promote a range of events and campaigns using the colours of the Italian flag- red, white, and green, along with motifs of roses, rainbows, and stars. This is a green and white poster featuring a portrait of Anna Kuliscioff, a Jewish Russian revolutionary, prominent feminist, anarchist, activist, and the first women to graduate with a medical degree in Italy. Black and white text at the top of the poster reads: "the freedom to be a woman in the society of men / The will to change life for a society of equals / 8th of March" (translated from Italian) 8th March is International Women's Day and potentially what this poster was celebrating in 1983.
