Description
This is part of a larger collection of fifty posters produced for the Italian socialist party from 1892 to 1970. This is a poster made of white card - there is an image on the front. This shows a man holding up a large red flag; there are crowds behind him. The top left of the poster has red text in a yellow box - this says "Primo Maggio, 1902, Partito Socialista Italiano." This translates to "1st May, 1902, Italian Socialist Party." This is referring to the International Workers' Day, also known as Labour Day in some countries and often referred to as May Day, is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labour movement and occurs every year on May Day (1 May).
